Substantially Improve Your Case Acceptance by Using a Personal Touch, Style, and Extraordinary Enthusiasm

BE THE ORTHODONTIC PRACTICE
ON THE
LEADING EDGE

Betty Zuelke is an Orthodontic Consultant Specializing in Increasing Case Acceptance and Treatment Coordinator training.  Betty’s professional background includes 18 years of Orthodontic experience as a Treatment Coordinator for a Monterey, California practice.  She created the Treatment Coordinator position in that office during the early 80's and, during her last 15 years there was instrumental in assisting the practice in growing to one of the largest practices in the nation with unusually high Case Acceptance and outstanding patient care.

Betty is not only unique and at the top of her field with respect to professional consulting, her experiential background in Orthodontics over the past 30 years, and her past results, she also has an unusual talent for teaching and motivating others to achieve outstanding results in the area of Case Acceptance and productivity.  She has a large number of successful clients throughout the nation.  She says: "my belief is, a practice team must continually provide exceptional service and extraordinary care to be “the office” in today’s market.  My focus is to have Orthodontists build and maintain a practice that enjoys a high quality of life - by surrounding themselves with patients who want to be in their office.  With effective use of verbal skills, proper scheduling, good patient flow techniques, recall and suspense/pending organization, and being in tune with the new patients’ desires and needs, a practice will obtain the Case Acceptance and productivity, in amounts previously considered impossible to achieve."

Few Orthodontic practices have a highly organized and efficient system of presenting and selling their case - ensuring that all new patients who come into the office want to stay.  Betty has noticed doctors and staff members struggle with the process of establishing “systems” which ensure each patient will be followed appropriately through the stages of: new patient examination, observation recall, orthodontic records, consultation/records review, financial discussion, suspense/pending follow-up, and numerous other procedures surrounding getting the difficult to start patient to say yes.

As a result of Betty's consultation, you will learn:

n  How to really listen to the patient, build trust, and assist them in starting treatment.

n  How to present finances so more patients accept treatment.

n  How to comfortably use verbal skills that help patients who think they cannot start, find a way to have treatment.

n  The “one step” complete new patient exam/start process, causing improved organization and efficient new patient conversion, along with greater patient satisfaction.

n  Verbal skills in case presentation and discussing finances to increase the number of patients who sign a formal financial agreement during the first exam appointment.

n  How to virtually eliminate patients going for second opinions.

n  How to increase the average down payment and the average monthly payment, while the practice increases Case Acceptance.

n  How to change scheduling to improve Case Acceptance.

n  How to combine your consultation and x-ray review with the new patient exam.

n  How to have effective Suspense/Pending patient follow-up.

n  Highly efficient letter writing and telephone skills to assist in the re-enrolling of Suspense/Pending patients.

n  How to design effective contests to promote patient referrals from within the office.

n  How to increase your new patient flow with siblings and patients referring their friends.

n  How to ask for and get patient referrals without embarrassment.

n  How to have a Recall/Observation system that works.

n  How to have productive “end of treatment” consultations.

n  A complete and written job description for your Treatment Coordinator.

n  How to recognize and eliminate the barriers patients have to accepting treatment.

n  How to determine what the patient wants.

n  How to identify the nature of your weak referral sources.

n  How to achieve improved clinical cooperation and fewer broken appliance problems.

Included in the Case Acceptance Consultation is an annual Telephone Support Program designed to coach the doctor and staff through rough spots, questions, or problems arising during the implementation of what I teach.  Common telephone support questions handled daily include: dealing with second opinion patients, dealing with employment related medical savings plans, starting multiple children in the family, working with required general dental work first, thanking patients who refer, promotion of practice contests, reviewing marketing brochures, reporting accurate figures for statistical tracking, discussing goals, previously mishandled patients in Suspense/Pending, and scheduling of starts.

"My greatest pleasure comes when I get a support call from a client who needs help with scheduling because they have “too many” patients wanting to start!"

“We have always utilized treatment coordinators in our office, but in the past they just assisted me and took notes during my exams.  After Betty Zuelke, the exams became property of the Treatment Coordinator and I just assisted her during her exams.  Wow, what a relief!  No longer do I carry the burden of starting patients.  We start more patients and I have more time to devote to my patients in treatment.  Thanks Betty!”

Sonja Johnson, Treatment Coordinator, Randall K. Bennett, DDS, MS,

Salt Lake City, UT

“Betty has helped me become a better Treatment Coordinator by showing me how to be more effective with my patients by helping them solve their problems that keep them from starting treatment.  She consults in a non-threatening manner, which makes her easy to talk to and allows me to be more open to her suggestions.  I feel more confident in my exams because of Betty.”

Gene Dellinger, DDS, MSD, Ft. Wayne, IN

“Consultants fail because 1) they don’t have sufficient knowledge to solve the problem or 2) they can’t implement their ideas or 3) their lack of follow through doesn’t allow system utilization.  Betty hits a home run by having no strikes.  She knows her material, she implements her material, and she follows through for total success!  We recommend Betty with no reservations or equivocations.”
